Baptism
Baptism is a sacrament in the Lutheran Church. Through baptism, we are sealed into Christ's eternal care and taken into the fellowship of Christian believers. Baptism of children asks not only that parents and sponsors promise to raise them within the faith but that a congregation also pledge to provide a Christian education to all whom are baptized.
Children can be baptized at any age. Youth and adults who were not baptized as children also are invited to be marked and welcomed as believers through baptism. Contact our pastors if you would like to arrange baptism for your children, other members of your family, or yourself.
Sunday School 2011-2012 Check It Out Here
Gloria Dei offers Christian education through Sunday School for children ages 3-12. We currently use a rotational method for teaching the Bible stories and their meaning in children's lives. Sunday School begins each September with a Rally Sunday and continues through the school year. Check the Gloria Dei News and Calendar pages for details. Contact a pastor is you have questions about Sunday School or would like to discuss your child's Christian education.
Sunday School begins at 9:10 AM and ends about 10:20 AM - between the 8:00 and 10:30 AM services. All grade school children meet in the upstairs Music Room for an opening and music time. Preschoolers are then dismissed to their class, while older children move to their rotational rooms. The Kindergarten through Fifth Grade schedule is posted on the bulliten board at the west entryway of the church. Middle school and high school students go directly to their class rooms at 9:10 AM.
Zacchaeus Sunday School Story Leaders Needed
The rotation Sunday School group will be learning about Zacchaeus on November 6, 13 and 20. Please sign up on the kiosk if you could lead the video on November 6th, or help with Art or the Games/Cooking lessons on November 13 and 20.

Young people K-12 are part of active youth groups at Gloria Dei. These groups help continue and put into practice learning about what it means to be a Christian in today's world.
