Activity to Miles Conversion Chart
Walk To Jerusalem
Convert your non-walking activities to miles with the following conversion chart. Then record your miles on the Mileage/Activity Log. Next, report your miles by emailing kath_behnke@new.rr.com or report them at church on Sundays.
If your activity isn't listed in "Sample Activities," please refer to the link provided below the chart or follow the general guidelines of 20 minutes of activity = 1 mile, or 2,000 steps = 1 mile. Or just take a guess!!
Examples of specific times/miles and illustrations of activities are located below.
If you have limited physical mobility, miles may be accumulated by participating in armchair isometrics, physical therapy or praying for other participants in the walk. Please see www.walkgeorgia.org and click "exercise tips" to explore more options.
Children and Jr./Sr. High youth involved in physical education classes, outside recess, or any other physical activities can add up their activities and convert to miles, too. Please report activity/mileage during the Sunday school opening at 9;10 a.m., or email/contact the mileage recorder to report activity.

Quick recording examples:
1) My basketball game lasted 1 hour, but total minutes I played throughout the game was 25. I would record 3 miles for my activity
2) I went downhill skiing for 6 hours, but my actual time skiing at a moderate pace, not including riding on the lifts, was 2 hours. I would record 12 miles for my activity.
3) I went walking for 30 minute and went 2 miles; I would record 2 miles for my activity.
