Walk To Jerusalem

Live Well Stewardship Emphasis Begins…

You are invited to join fellow Gloria Dei members on our Walk to Jerusalem this Lent. Participants will report miles walked or equivalent activity, which will be accumulated into a congregation-wide total. Adults will walk to Jerusalem via Romania where the Schlachtenhaufens have ministered. Children and youth will make their way to Martin, South Dakota where the youth mission trip will be serving this summer. Walk to Jerusalem (6,095 miles) and Walk to South Dakota (756 miles) begin Monday, February 15. Sign up begins on Sunday, January 31st between worship services and continues through February 14th.
We have a limited supply of pedometers. Please request one at the sign-up table if you need one to help you track your activity this Lent.

How it works:
Keep track of your activity miles each day
Record miles you walk, run or bike each day.
Record minutes you spend in other physical activities each day.
Convert activity minutes to miles:
20 minutes of light activity = 1 mile
20 minutes of moderate activity = 2 miles
25 minutes of vigorous activity = 3 miles
Click here for a list of various activities

Report your weekly mileage to Kathleen Behnke via email or by filling out a mileage slip and placing it in the box in the narthex marked "Walk to Jerusalem."

Not a walker?  Daily prayer for Walk to Jerusalem participants and other Live Well concerns converts to 2 miles per week.

Weekly results will be tallied each Wednesday and announced each Sunday so we can celebrate our progress. No individual results will be posted or announced - only congregational totals. Last year's walk involved 105 people including 9 youth. Can we increase those numbers and the health benefits to our members this year?
