ELCA National Youth Gathering 2012

In 2012 we have several youth traveling to New Orleans for our national church youth gathering.

YOUTH CHOIR

All 5th-10th graders are invited to sing in our Junior Choir.  The choir practices each Wednesday at 5:30 PM - before confirmation classes.  Just contact Jill Kruger (729-0958) or simply come on Wednesday. 


COFFEE HOUSE

We need your help!  Please help us after school at the Coffee House.  We need volunteers each Thursday afternoon during the school year.  Call Patty Arnold (385-8758) or just come by on Thurdays.  The Coffee House opens at 3:15 PM - and we are finished cleaning up by 4:30 PM. 



EARN MONEY FOR UPCOMING ACTIVITIES

Youth and their families can earn funds to help pay for youth activities by volunteering to help out with various church events throughout the year.  Starting in Fourth grade, youth can earn funds by donating needed items for events such as Sunday Brunches and Lenten Soup Suppers.  From Fifth grade on, youth and their families can also volunteer their time to help with several church events.  Sign-up sheets will be posted on the Youth Bulletin Board throughout the year with opportunities for youth to serve their church and earn funds at the same time.  Funds earned can be used on a variety of youth activities including National and Synod Youth Gatherings, Confirmation Camp, Mission trips, and numerous church youth/family activities.

YOUTH BOARD OPPORTUNITIES

We have openings on our Youth Board!  If you like to help plan and coordinate activities for our youth groups, we want you go join the board.  We meet once a month and have a great time!

NATIONAL YOUTH GATHERING 2012

Talk to Pastor Jon if you'd like to travel with us to New Orleans again this coming year for the National Youth Gathering.  Plans are being made now, and signup/registration is in October.

CONFIRMATION BEGINS

Confirmation Orientation will be held Septemer 7th at 6:30 PM for all 6th-8th graders and their parents.  Regular classes begin on September 14th from 6:15-7:45 PM.

 

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM!!  Is right around the corner.  Sign up for children in 2nd through 9th grade who are interested in learning all the songs in our musical, along with some dancing and acting.  Extra rehearsals are Sunday nights, 5:30 – 7:15, starting November 6. The program is scheduled for Sunday, December 18 at the 10:30 service. More details will follow.

  ***ALL OTHER SUNDAY SCHOOL CHILDREN in preschool through 1st grade and older children who chose not to learn the extra songs are all included in our program
